Speaking to the reporters on Friday, Ralf Rangnick said: “From what I know, all the managers the club has spoken to so far are top managers, top coaches, and this is true of Erik ten Hag.
“I think this is the press conference for tomorrow’s game [against Everton] and I don’t intend to speak about any possible new Manchester United managers here. That’s all I can say at this stage.”
Ten Hag is believed to be on the verge of agreeing to a contract with Man United after beating Mauricio Pochettino in the Old Trafford managerial rage.
As for Rangnick, the German will transition into a two-year consultancy role at the end of the season although his exact role remains unknown.
