Ralf Rangnick Finally Reveals Why He Blocked Dean Henderson’s Exit This January

Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that he has denied Dean Henderson the chance to leave Man United in the January transfer window.

He told Talksport: “A couple of weeks ago he [Henderson] asked me [if he could leave] but I told him I’d rather have him stay until the end of the season. We are very happy with our goalkeepers but if it’s up to me I wouldn’t want him to leave.”

The German gaffer also said after Man United’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa that Henderson didn’t play due to illness.

Henderson had asked Ralf to grant him a possible loan move out of Old Trafford a few weeks ago, which the gaffer said no to.

Rangnick apparently wants 3 goalkeepers in his first-team squad and wants to keep Dean as a back-up to David de Gea.

Henderson is growing increasingly unhappy at his situation at Old Trafford and is keeping pushing for a move away.
