In his pre-match press conference, Ralf Rangnick was asked if any of the injured Manchester United players could return to face Norwich City on Saturday.
The boss replied: “Yes, very much so. Tomorrow’s game, the only possible candidate might be Edi [Edinson Cavani]. We have to wait and see.
“He was training with the team yesterday and a couple of days before that so we have to wait and see how he feels today.
“For Rapha [Raphael Varane], the game comes too early.
“He was out a couple of weeks and we need to make sure he stays fully fit for the next couple of months, until the end of the season.
“So we don’t want to rush him too much. I am very positive, in the next couple of weeks, he will be available.”
About Anthony Martial, Ragnick added: “We’ll wait and see. It’s a question of pain and how tolerable the pain will be on his knee but, for tomorrow, he won’t be one of the players who is available.”
After a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace and a 1-1 draw with Young Boys, Rangnick and co are up for another challenge at Carrow Road this weekend.
Beating bottom-placed Norwich shouldn’t be too tough based on what we’ve seen from Ralf so far. Winning three points will also be crucial in the Red Devils’ quest to return to among the top four.
