When asked about whether he will convince Paul Pogba to sign a new contract with Man United, Ralf Rangnick said: “I wouldn’t say he is not worth keeping but players need to want to stay and play for the club.
“If a player doesn’t want to play for a club like Manchester United, even in the long term, I don’t think it makes sense to convince him to change his mind.
“This is such a massive club, with fantastic support, I don’t think anyone at the club should try to convince a player to stay.”
“Let’s have him come back, get fully fit, and training with the team, then we will see where we stand.”
On Friday, Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola linked him to a possible summer move to Bayern Munich and stayed quiet on his contract extension talks with the Red Devils.
Pogba is tipped to return to action next month, after which Rangnick will possibly decide whether to keep him in his squad or not.
