Speaking to Premier League Productions, Owen Hargreaves said: “If Paul Pogba plays instead of Fred or Scott McTominay and Manchester United are playing in one half, then you’ve got another guy that can pass.
“He can play a pass into Cristiano Ronaldo. I thought they played okay [under Ralf Rangnick so far], but Marcus Rashford was really quiet, Bruno Fernandes was pretty quiet as well.
“Getting those guys, Raphael Varane and Pogba, back into the side, Man United have easily one of the strongest teams in the Premier League, but they need to start playing like it.”
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba is currently sidelined with a major thigh injury and the 28-year-old is not expected to make his return to action until January 2022.
The Frenchman, whose Old Trafford contract expires at the end of the season, is said to be ‘excited’ about Ralf Rangnick’s appointment at Old Trafford.
