Raphael Varane has said he is focused on finishing the season with Real Madrid. However, reports linking him to Chelsea are heating up since there has been no agreement to extend the center-back’s contract with Real Madrid.
The Real’s defender even went as far as praising Chelsea for being a complete team that can create danger at any moment.
AS reported by Fabrizio Romano, Varane said, “My future is clear. I am focused on the end of this season. We are in a very intense and key moment.”
According to Romano, there is still no agreement to extend Varane’s contract, with it set to expire in 2022.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will face Varane’s Real Madrid in the Champions League with both teams vying to get to the final.
Also, according to Nizaar Kinsella, Raphael Varane had this to say about Chelsea: “They are quite a complete team and they can create danger in any moment of the match.” The defender noting Chelsea’s threat through speed and aerial ability.
If he does join the Blues, it will be to replace the aging Thiago Silva and with his quality, Varane could be the perfect addition to Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
