Marcus Rashford has confirmed that his interview was twisted to make it sound different. The United star’s recent interview with The Guardian blew up after he claimed he’d love to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona if he moved abroad.
However, Rashy has set the record straight on Twitter. He tweeted: “If I remember rightly the question was ‘as a child, loving football, where would you have dreamed of playing?’…you’d be lying if, as a boy, you didn’t say you dreamt of playing for those clubs.
“Every child in every playground would say the same. This snippet is out of context.”
Marcus Rashford was referring to a tweet shared by popular account UTDreport, which claimed that the 23-year-old wants to move abroad. Although the tweet has been deleted now.
It’s great to see the player come forward and shut down the rumors before they are completely blown out of proportion.
