Real Madrid Hold ‘Positive Talks’ With Rudiger Amid Contract Saga With Chelsea

As per the reliable Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian, Real Madrid have held ‘positive talks’ with Antonio Rudiger over a summer move.

The center-back’s Chelsea deal expires at the end of this season and it seems less and less likely that he will renew it.

Madrid are now the favorites to sign Rudiger – they can agree on a pre-contract with the player in January.

It is reported that Chelsea’s opening offer was £140,000 a week and Rudiger wants an offer close to £200,000 a week.

There has been no ‘breakdown’ between Rudiger and Chelsea but the club’s hierarchy remains reluctant to return with an improved offer.
