Speaking to BT Sport about Cristiano Ronaldo, Ralf Rangnick said: “It’s normal. Ronaldo is a striker and he wants to score goals.
“He’s just come back from injury — we were 2–0 up the same result as at Villa Park, and I wanted us to be more solid this time.
“We had to change a few things. The first half we weren’t good in almost all aspects of the game. Sloppy passing, not strong enough in the 50/50 situations.”
Ronaldo was taken off in the 70th minute of the game against Brentford on Wednesday after having practically no service for the entire game.
The Portuguese reacted furiously and had to be consoled by Rangnick after throwing his coat in frustration near the substitute bench.
