Sources close to Thibaut Courtois have said that the goalkeeper’s return to his old club will be much different as compared to Eden Hazard’s. And the Belgian will be very keen to beat his old side at Stamford Bridge.
Thibaut Courtois left Chelsea after forcing a move out as he refused to show up to training in order to go to Real Madrid.
Now according to The Athletic, the former Blue has a point to prove against his old side at the Bridge: “All the comments he’s read about being the snake will inspire him instead, Going back to Chelsea will be different for him compared to Hazard.
“[He] would have relished facing the inevitable jeers had supporters been allowed in at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night and used it to play even better.”
The Belgian even recently aimed a jibe at Chelsea by saying that joining Real Madrid felt way better than being presented as a Blue all those years ago. With such comments, it’s clear that no love is lost between the club and the player.
