Cristiano Ronaldo Nominated For EA Sports’s Team Of The Year

Cristiano Ronaldo has made the cut for 70-man nominees for EA Sports’s Team of the Year. On Thursday, EA Sports released the shortlist for 2020’s Team of the Year. The selection is ongoing and fans can choose their favorite star on FIFA 21 from a list of 70 footballers on their website.

Meanwhile, the nominees for EA SPorts’s Team of the Year include 7 goalkeepers, 18 defenders, 19 midfielders, and 26 attackers.

There are some big surprise appearances in the list including Alaves forward Joselu, Lazio and Sassuolo center-backs Acerbi and Caputo, and Southampton striker Danny Ings.

On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala happen to be the only Juve player represented on the shortlist. But there are five other Portuguese players who joined their captain to make the 70-man shortlist: Raphael Guerreiro (Dortmund), Renato Sanches (Lille), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Andre Silva (Frankfurt), and Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid).

Cristiano Ronaldo was not featured in the last year’s edition of EA Sports’s Team of the Year after he came 12th in the ranking, which means he was the most voted footballer after the chosen starting XI. The fans have opted to choose Sadio Mane, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi for their attacking trio.

The winners of EA Sports’s Team of the Year will be announced in this ongoing month of January when the voting closes on January 18th after which the FIFA fans can then be able to enjoy special player items featuring their favorite footballers.
