Solskjaer Makes Decision On United First-Choice Goalkeeper For The 2021-22 Campaign

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has finally made a decision on United first-choice goalkeeper, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Dean Henderson is expected to start the 2021-22 campaign as Manchester United’s no.1 with David De Gea set to remain on the bench for the opening few games.

The England international has reported back to pre-season training after making a full recovery from a hip injury that forced him to withdraw from England’s 26-man Euro 2020 squad last month.

David de Gea, on the other hand, has cut his vacation short and returned to Carrington as the Spaniard intends to fight Dean Henderson for the no.1 position. The 30-year-old shot-stopper is not looking to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Previously, it was reported that United is open to letting any of De Gea or Henderson leave this season after signing veteran Tom Heaton and extending Lee Grant’s contract to another year. But as things stand, De Gea and Henderson are set to remain at Old Trafford this season, with the latter keeping the manager’s trust for the start of the season.
