Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ended up regretting the fact that he allowed Man United to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo last summer, claims The Times.
It was actually the idea of the club’s management to bring the Portuguese forward back after finding the opportunity to do so.
However, Solskjaer didn’t think Ronaldo fit with the kind of young squad he was trying to build at Old Trafford.
Cristiano couldn’t save Ole from getting sacked and endured a difficult first season back at United, seeing them finish outside the top-4.
Ronaldo ended the campaign as the club’s top scorer with 24 goals, but will have to play in the Europa League for the first time ever if he stays at Old Trafford next season.
