Solskjaer Gives flimsy reasons why he Benched Rashford in disappointing city loss
Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has explained why he didn’t start Rashford in the Manchester derby while talking to MUTV. He said “We’ve had a couple of issues since [playing Atalanta in] Italy.
“Edi [Edinson Cavani] has been one of them, Marcus [Rashford] was only cleared this morning.
“Luckily, he can be on the bench and hopefully, if he needs to he can come on.”
More importantly, Cavani is a great addition to the team and his absence will be felt greatly, especially after partnering well with Cristiano Ronaldo up top.

However, the good news for Manchester United is that Rashy is available to add some late goals off the bench if needed.
