Solskjaer Comments On David De Gea’s Man United Future

David de Gea’s Man United future has been thrown up in the air as the Spanish shot-stopper hasn’t played for United since a Premier League match against Chelsea at the end of February.

Solskjaer has assured David de Gea he will “definitely play football for us again” after Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Brighton.

De Gea returned to Old Trafford on Sunday for the first time since flying out to Spain for the birth of his first child last month. However, in his absence, Dean Henderson has impressed in the goal so far.

Moreover, Henderson, who has spent most of this season playing second fiddle, got the nod over De Gea to start against Brighton. But while acknowledging both keepers, Solskjaer insists it’s not the end of the road for De Gea.

“I’ve got two great keepers, two number 1s,” Solskjaer told BBC Sport.

“David de Gea spent a while back home and then he had internationals so he hadn’t played for about a month. He’ll definitely play football for us again.”

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood in the second half sealed United victory over Brighton, who had snatched an early lead through former Manchester United star Danny Welbeck at Old Trafford.

United have now moved four points clear of Leicester City in second place in the Premier League table. At least, we can now be relaxed over David de Gea’s Man United future.
