Speaking about certain Man United players being discontent with being on the bench for matches, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “We don’t have time for anybody to sulk, if you’re not in starting XI you are there to support your teammates.
“The attitude was spot on (vs Spurs). Players want to play, nobody is happy when they don’t. It is the team before any individual.”
There are quite a few players who are not happy with their situation at United right now. Donny van de Beek is frustrated with being benched for the majority of the games and could leave in January if things don’t improve.
On the other hand, Eric Bailly ‘openly challenged’ Solskjaer over the decision to play Harry Maguire over him against Leicester City a few weeks ago. There’s also a surprise within the squad over how little game-time Jesse Lingard gets despite his impressive start to the season.
Moreover, Solskjaer has the chance to change up his system and give the players longing for more game-time their shot when the Red Devils face Atalanta on Tuesday.
