Ole Gunnar Solskkjaer Speaks Out After Losing Europa League Final
Manchester United lost the Europa League to Villarreal on intense penalties. And United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists the club must learn from their loss.
In the post-match interview, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told BT Sport: “Can Manchester United call this season a success? No.
“It’s quiet [in the dressing room] of course. It’s a disappointed dressing room. That’s football for you.
“Sometimes it’s decided on one kick and that’s the difference between winning and losing. Got to learn from that one.”

Solskjaer continued: “We’ve got to, not savour this one, but taste this feeling and make sure we don’t get it again.
“We didn’t turn up. We didn’t play as well as we know we can do. I think we started alright, they got the goal – the only shot on target, they score. Disappointed we concede a goal on a set-play again, of course.”
This is a disappointing end to 2020-21 and there is no doubt about that. United came agonizingly close but fell short when it mattered most. And Villarreal did their best to win the Europa League.
