Stere expands into LatAm insurance market

Stere’s digital insurance ecosystem has expanded into the Latin American insurance market, the company said.

Stere entered the market with 15 closed deals and Thiago H. Soares as CEO of Latin American operations.

These include Fleets, a boat rental app with more than 2,000 vessels; Kitei, a technology platform for debt repayment and refinancing; OAB, Brazilian Bar Association, in collaboration with Redentor Seguros; and FeTransporte, a Brazilian MGA focused on maritime and transportation.

Steri noted that Soares and his team have also signed a select group of MGAs and embedded partners in Latin America to help meet capacity needs, develop unique travel with customers and implement unique digital capabilities using a rich API library.

“Thiago’s extensive local, regional and global experience is perfect for the position, and I can’t come up with anyone with more qualifications to manage Stere’s trip to LatAm,” said Stere CEO and founder Dogan Calelli.

According to the company, Soares is a veteran of the insurance industry whose careers span two decades, several continents, actuarial senior management positions and roles as regional manager of digital analytics at Chubb, Allianz, CNP Assurance and Hannover Insurance.
