Tammy Abraham’s omission in FA Cup final defeat to Leicester City on Saturday has been met with great question by many. However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has said he understands Abraham’s frustration but his decision wasn’t based on any personal issues.
Speaking about the decision to snub Tammy Abraham in the FA Cup final, Tuchel said in his pre-match press conference: “It’s just the amount of people I can have in a squad.
“We didn’t want 3 numbers 9s in the squad, it is not personal. I understand his frustration. This is not the moment to explain too much.”
The manager’s decision to not include the striker in the final squad was criticized by the striker’s girlfriend after the loss.
Meanwhile, Tammy himself came down to the Wembley pitch after the game to console his teammates and will look to work his way into being a part of Chelsea’s squad for the Leicester City game on Tuesday.
