Four-Time African Best Player Names The Football Gods – Includes a Late Legend!
African legend Samuel Eto’o has named his football Gods including Argentina legend Diego Maradona, who the former Barcelona striker never had the privilege to share the pitch.
“There have been very few gods in football,” Samuel Eto’o told Argentine newspaper La Nacion.
“Argentina gave us two – one [Diego Maradona] is resting close to his father and the other [Lionel Messi] is still with us in this world.
“I was blessed to have played with Messi and enjoy his football. With Diego, I never had the chance to play with him officially. But I watched him a lot as a child on TV and it amazed me what he did with the ball.”
The four-time African best continued; “Cristiano is another God. Together with Messi, they are the players who mark current football with the highest grades.”

But Who Will Be The Fourth God?
Samuel Eto’o also believes Kylian Mbappe will be the man to succeed Ronaldo and Messi as the next ‘God’ of football.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker is already regarded as one of the best players in the world at the age of 22, and, in the eyes of Eto’o, is ready to follow in the iconic duo’s footsteps.
“But another God is coming for when Messi and Cristiano get tired of giving us these joys,” he added.
“That new God will be Kylian Mbappe.”
