Thibaut Courtois is not the most-loved former Chelsea player as the goalkeeper left the Blues in 2018 by forcing a move to Real Madrid.
However, Courtois still has love for his old club. He said (via Marca): “Chelsea will always be one of my teams because they helped me to become the goalkeeper I am now.
“They signed me when I was 18 and gave me the opportunity to play for Atletico and then play in the Premier League and win it. I still have friends there.”
“It’s always a pleasure to play against them. Obviously, I have a fondness for Chelsea, and if I see them win a title, I congratulate the people I know, but when they play against me… I hope we win.”
Courtois made 154 appearances for Chelsea, spending four seasons here and winning two Premier League titles. Last season, he was beaten by the Blues as they knocked Madrid out on their way to winning the Champions League.
