Tuchel defends himself as Rudiger rejects new contract extension with Chelsea

“It’s pretty clear what we want. It isn’t always the way that the club and coach want something and it will happen,” Thomas Tuchel said about Antonio Rudiger’s contract situation.

“Things can be delayed, take their time but I am sure Toni feels respected and what an important role he plays at this club.”

Antonio Rudiger’s current deal with Chelsea comes to an end in June 2022 and it does not look like the sides are close to reaching an agreement.

According to the latest report, the center-back rejected the last offer from the club, hinting that it felt like ‘a slap in the face’.
