As per the Daily Mail, Thomas Tuchel ‘feels’ that Chelsea ‘function better’ when Kai Havertz is leading the attack.
The German international was given the start over Romelu Lukaku against Lille despite the Belgian being fit.
The Telegraph adds that Havertz’s recent performances ‘strengthened some of the opinions around Chelsea’ that the team plays better without Lukaku.
The Mail adds that despite his benching, Lukaku ‘will not make any snap decisions over his long-term future’ with the club.
