Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has provided an injury update on Kante ahead of Aston Villa’s final day clash and hopes the Frenchman will be able to join the team training on Saturday.
The boss also confirmed that Kai Havertz has already done a fitness test and will be back in full training the same day. While Andreas Christensen is fully fit and will be in the squad for the game.
“Andreas Christensen will be in the squad,” Tuchel told a press conference ahead of the Aston Villa game. “He did full training today and also yesterday without any problems so he will be back.”
“Kai Havertz did a test today and will be in team training tomorrow.
“With N’Golo, it’s going to be very close but still some hopes that he maybe joins team training tomorrow. If not, then he will join on Monday.”
Meanwhile, N’Golo Kante was subbed off in the Premier League game against Leicester City as a precaution after he felt pain in his hamstring. Kai Havertz, on the other hand, was not in the squad for that match, while Christensen has missed the last three matches.
Moreover, the German will have to keep the upcoming Champions League final in mind as he selects the starting XI for the must-win game against an in-form Aston Villa.
