Thomas Tuchel Sends Confiding Message To Mason Mount As Chelsea Key Men Remain Injured

“We rely on him because he plays in an offensive position,” Thomas Tuchel told Chelsea’s official website about Mason Mount.

“He needs to be decisive and assist and score because he has the technique, the ability, and the movement to do so. It’s about timing, acceleration, and knowing where and when to arrive in the box.

“It’s about connections between Reece and him most of the time, depending on which side he plays.

“We cannot be surprised that sometimes in careers of young players they have difficult moments. That’s why they are young players, and why their careers are at the beginning and not the end.”

“The thing is to take care of him, guide him through these moments, to push him and trust him with what we do.

“Players always want to play, now he is back in a good shape and in full confidence, and with a bit of luck he will be the guy he can be.”

Mason Mount’s form early in the season raised a lot of questions as he looked like a shadow of his last-season’s left.

But the 22-year-old has bounced back, notching three goals and two assists in three previous league games.
