The 2021-22 UEFA Champions League group stage draw will be held in Istanbul on Thursday, August 26.
As Barcelona finished third in La Liga last season, Ronald Koeman’s men are seeded in Pot 2, meaning that they can face clubs from Pots 1,3, or 4, except for their local rivals from the Spanish top flight.
So let’s take a look at clubs seeded in those pots who Barcelona could likely draw;
Pot 1: Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, Inter Milan, Sporting Lisbon, Lille;
Pot 2: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, PSG, Liverpool, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund;
Pot 3: Porto, Ajax, RB Leipzig, Atalanta, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Benfica;
Pot 4: AC Milan, Club Brugge, Wolfsburg, Young Boys, Malmo.
Meanwhile, the final three spots in the group stage will be decided later on Wednesday between Shakhtar Donetsk vs Monaco (1-0 in the first leg), RB Salzburg vs Brondby (2-1 in the first leg), and Dinamo Zagreb vs Sheriff Tiraspol (0-3 in the first leg).
Besiktas and Dynamo Kyiv, meanwhile, have already qualified but it remains to be seen if it’ll be Pot 3 or Pot 4 they feature in this term.
