Rangnick Names 3 Man United Players Who Were Outstanding In Scrappy Norwich Win

“It was a completely different game compared to last Sunday,” Ralf Rangnick said in his post-match press conference.

“This also had to do with the performance of our opponent. Norwich [City] did extremely well; very courageous, very proactive, very aggressive, and in parts of the game we had problems with this kind of football.

“The body language, intensity, aggressiveness, especially in our offensive department – and by that, I don’t only mean the strikers but also the two number 10s – we didn’t play on the same kind of intensity level as we did against Crystal Palace.”

The Manchester United boss continued: “But it also had to do with the way Norwich played today.

“Norwich played in a proactive, aggressive way, they played like we played against Palace on Sunday. It’s a question how we deal with this kind of football.

“I would have wished we had more intensity, more physicality, more willingness to win one-on-one duels.”

Ralf added: “We could have done better in certain parts of the game, some parts were good. I thought the whole defensive line and the two sixes, including David De Gea, did extremely well.

“Fred and Scott McTominay played on a high level, the center-backs, with the two full-backs were good.”

Honestly, Ralf Rangnick’s assessment is spot on – the attackers were a let-down but the midfield and the defense did their jobs very well.

The signs are good so far but the Red Devils need to be more clinical and aggressive in finishing for Rangnick’s tactics to really work.
