Andreas Christensen scored his first-ever goal for Chelsea in the 4-0 win over Malmo.
The Danish center-back is now a regular in the first team and the Blues have been working on extending his contract.
According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, it is only a matter of time before the announcement, with a verbal agreement already in place for the defender.
The report also states that the final clauses are what’s left to be fixed before Andreas Christensen puts pen to paper.
The 25-year-old center-back has apparently always been planning to stay with the Blues.
Unlike Christensen, Chelsea are yet to find a breakthrough with their other defender in Antonio Rudiger as both parties are apart on wage agreement. However, it has been reported that the Blues are eager to keep the German and will shift full focus on his contract renewal once Christensen’s situation is resolved.
