What Erik ten Hag Said About Cristiano Ronaldo When He Was At Juventus In 2019 Revisited
There has been a lot of speculation over whether Erik ten Hag would want to keep Cristiano Ronaldo if he takes over as Man United’s next manager.
This comes from reports that the Dutch manager wants energetic, hard-working players committed to pressing really sharply all the time – with some feeling Ronaldo can’t fulfill that.
However, the last time Ten Hag met Ronaldo – in the Champions League quarter-finals in 2019 – he had nothing but good things to say as Cristiano was facing a fitness test.
He said: “I think it’s nice if Ronaldo plays. We want to play against the best possible opponent. That’s a challenge and we like to face challenges. It’s fantastic if you can compete against a player like Ronaldo.”
