Thomas Tuchel Shares Why Arsenal Did Not Deserve The Win Against Chelsea
The Blues boss says they should have had a 3-goal lead in the first half but instead gifted Arsenal a goal. Thomas Tuchel adds that it was a totally lucky win for the Gunners.
“The first half was OK, it was enough to lead 3-0 but we were 1-0 down because we forgot to score at the other end and then scored an own goal practically, I don’t know how Arsenal would’ve scored if we didn’t give it to them ourselves,” Thomas Tuchel told BBC in his post-match comments.

At the press conference, the German manager added: “It is a totally lucky win & nobody can argue with that. It is not a deserved win, not at all for Arsenal.
“But I don’t want to go there 100 percent because we all lacked concentration. Maybe I also gave some signals to the team with changes that Saturday is on my mind.”
Chelsea enjoyed much better stats in the game than the Gunners, registering 19 shots [5 on target] throughout the 90 minutes, while Arsenal had just 5 shots [2 on target].
The Blues side also had a larger share of the possession across the game [68 percent to 32]. However, in the end, Arsenal duly took their chance and scored a lone goal that won them the game.
