Cristiano Ronaldo will not be involved in Portugal’s Nations League game against Switzerland on Sunday, his coach Fernando Santos confirmed.
“There are no physical problems,” Santos said of Ronaldo’s absence. “It is normal management.
“It wouldn’t make sense to have 26 players traveling if we can only play 23. It fell to these players to miss out, that’s all.”
While it may be good news for Man United that Ronaldo is given extra rest instead of being forced to play a rather meaningful Nations League game, it’s not normal to see Ronaldo being simply sidelined.
