Jesse Lingard will not be leaving Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Newcastle and West Ham were willing to sign the 29-year-old on loan but any potential deal was blocked by the Red Devils.
The Athletic add that Man United’s position is clear: Lingard will be staying at Old Trafford until the end of the 20210-22 campaign.
It is also reported that the Red Devils have promised the Englishman that he will be an important part of their second half of the season. However, no new deal expected to be signed between the player and the club as he is would leave as a free agent in the summer.
