Tuchel Explains Why Reece James’ Position Was Changed In The FA Cup Final Defeat
Thomas Tuchel has explained the reasons why Reece James’ position was changed in the FA Cup final defeat to Leicester City on Saturday. The Blues boss insists that playing James at right center-back was a tactical decision.
When quizzed why Reece James’ position was changed, Tuchel replied: “We changed the position because we knew about the position of Jamie Vardy.
“We wanted Reece’s power and acceleration to eliminate the threat. He did fantastic today. I’m very happy.
“If Azpi [Azpilicueta] had scored the goal it would’ve been a great decision. It was a decision to tactical reasons and I’m very happy with how we defended in general today.”
